Congratulations to Matt Allen (Hayston) in winning the matchplay championship final against Angus Watson (Douglas Park).

Wednesday’s final will be between Douglas Park’s Angus Watson and Hayston’s Matt Allen.

The Matchplay Championship semi-finals on Tuesday evening will be between Douglas Park members Angus Watson and Adam MacLeod and Matt Allan (Hayston) v Cairn Smith (Clober).

Congratulations to Cairn who had a hole in one at the 12th hole in his match against Craig Bisset.

Congratulations to Angus Watson (Douglas Park) for winning the Championship with two very fine rounds of 70, just edging out Steven Stewart on a second round count back.

Best round of the day was a 3 under par 66 from Hayston’s Matt Allan.

The handicap prize went to Cairn Smith (Clober) on a second round countback from fellow Clober member Gavin Roger.

The draw for the Matchplay Championship starting on Monday evening is as follows (available players only):

Angus Watson (Douglas Park) v Andy Campbell (Dumbarton)
Gavin Roger (Clober) v Adam MacLeod (Douglas Park)
Cairn Smith (Clober) v Craig Bisset (Dumbarton)
Matt Allan (Hayston) v Hamish Mills (Cardross).

The DGU Strokeplay Championship will take place on Sunday 28th August 2022 over 36 holes at Douglas Park GC. The top 8 gross scores will qualify for the Matchplay championship which will be held on Monday 29th to Wednesday 31st August 2022 at Douglas Park Golf Club.

Handicap Index limit is 12.0 with a £20 entry fee covering both rounds.

To enter please use one of the following methods:

  1. Click here to enter onlineSelect “Open Competitions” and then click on the appropriate competition (requires a Scottish Golf account).

  2. Enter via the SGL APP or download the Scottish Golf app from here for your mobile device.

  3. Email secretary@dgu.org.uk If not registered on the SGL APP, send an email with player name, date of birth, email address and CDH number. A SGL APP account and competition entry will then be registered.
