Congratulations to George Duncan of Windyhill Golf Club who is the Scottish Amateur Champion 2016.

In today’s 36 hole final at Royal Aberdeen, George beat Nairn’s Andrew Burgess by 3&1. George went 2 down at the 13th in the morning round but rallied to go in at lunch 2 up. George remained in the lead for the duration of the afternoon round, securing victory at the 35th hole.

George, who has won the Windyhill Club Championship 5 times and is a DGU “A” team member, became the second Windyhill member to win the Championship since 2000, following in the footsteps of Andrew McArthur who won at Western Gailes in 2002.
