After the first day’s play we have a good representation of DGU players in the top places. With the top 64 and ties progressing to the matchplay stages later in the week a number of players are well placed.

Leading scores from the DGU players are Chris MacLean and James Wilson (both Balmore) who are in joint 6th place on 3 under par. Also in the top 64 are Euan McBride (Lenzie) -2 in 11th, James Sutherland (Hilton Park) and Neil McConnachie (Balmore) both +1 in 33rd, Daniel Ward (Cardross) and defending Champion George Duncan (Windyhill) both +2 in 52nd.

With play being over 2 courses at Prestwick and Prestwick St Cuthbert a lot can change on the second day.
