A great performance by Windyhill’s Fergus Allan in winning the West of Scotland Boys Matchplay Championship with a 3&2 victory over defending champion Joseph Kelly (Cambuslang).

The final was played in fairly constant rain and both boys played to a very high standard. Fergus recorded 4 birdies in the match with Joseph recording 2.

As the match reached the final stages, Fergus played a great fairway bunker shot to the edge of the 15th green for a vital half. At the next hole a precision chip from the edge of the green secured a par and closed out the match.
