Ewen has been forced to withdraw from the Scotland’s Men’s team for next week’s European defence due to the recurrence of a hand injury.
The Bearsden player was forced to retire after only six holes of today’s final Open qualifier at Gailes Links as a result of the problem.

Congratulations to George Duncan (Windyhill) who finished in 4th place with a 4 round total of 283. James Wilson (Balmore) finished in 11th place after an outstanding 64 in the 3rd round. Ellis Hart (Dullatur) and Andy Campbell (Dumbarton) also made the 36 hole cut out of the 10 players from DGU clubs.
Congratulations to Chris MacLean (Balmore) who has been selected for the 3 man team to compete for Great Britain in the World University Golf Championship in France on the 23-26 June.

A great performance from Ewen Ferguson (Bearsden) in the quarter final against Paul McBride from Ireland but unfortunately Ewen's challenge fell just short with a 2 hole defeat at the last hole.
Overall a great performance from our 2 players with Chris McLean (Balmore) also reaching the match play stages.
Ewen Ferguson (Bearsden) is in the last 8 of the Amateur Championship.
Ewen progressed thanks to victories today over Alasdair McDougall (Elderslie) by 4&2 in the morning followed by a 4&3 win over Jamie Bower of England in the afternoon.
